Chief Cook and Bottle-Washer:  Mags Viverito

The Gang Is All HereI have the traditional stage technician mentality that prefers to stay behind the scenes.  I hate having the spotlight directed at me, which is why I’ll be the one behind the camera.  That aside, this is how I got to this point in my life, how all the bits added up and Wooftastic came to be.  I was born in Chicago in the early 60’s and got my first dog when I was 3 or 4.  My first Sheltie came from a pet store in 1975. I was a huge fan of Lassie and wanted a Collie but my Mom was afraid of “big dogs” so we got a “miniature collie” instead – that’s how I found the breed I love. I started training dogs in 4H and competed in obedience at the Arizona State Fair.

I’ve lived all over the world: Illinois, Arizona, Texas, Ohio, West  Germany (Which tells you how long ago that was!), Minnesota,   New York,  Georgia,  Massachusetts, and Florida.  I graduated from Miami University with a BA in Theatre, with emphasis in Lighting Design, in December and spent the next year working at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.  After touring with The Big Apple Circus, I served as the Master Electrician for the Academy Theatre in Atlanta, GA, and then spent a year as the Lighting Designer for the Worcester Foothills Theatre, Worcester, MA before settling in central Florida and going to work for Walt Disney World in 1989.  While at Disney I continued working as a lighting tech and also did some lighting design.  I trained to be a pyro tech, a LASER tech, a video director, a video master switcher, and a camera operator.  I was video director for such bands as Al Jarreau, Spyro Gyra, Duran Duran, Men At Work, Heart, LL Cool J, Turtles, Rascals, Jimmy Vaughan, Huey Lewis and the News, Cameo, Christopher Cross, Bo Diddley, Rick Springfield, Squeeze, Faith Evans, and many more.  I was a camera operator for such acts as Pam Tillis, Chuck Mangione, and many others.  In my free time I also worked on numerous TV, commercial, and film shoots.

Feel free to drop me line if you’d like to know more about me or Wooftastic Videos!
